Early Rochester History Comes Alive |

Warren Kling is a native Rochesterian and local historian specializing in the early pioneer history of Rochester. He has written and published a number of articles on pioneers of the area and has a large collection of images which are used to illustrate his slide presentations. Warren has previously been active in the Landmark Society, the Rochester Historical Society and the Friends of Mt. Hope Cemetery, where he served on the Board of Trustees and chaired the Tours & Tourguide Training Committees. Much of his time is spent sharing his passion for the early history of Rochester as a speaker for many groups, organizations and senior communities throughout Monroe, Ontario & Wayne counties. He has entertained thousands of people on guided walking tours of local cemeteries and has developed special non-walking Rochester history related fall foliage tours for groups with their own minibus transportation. He also offers six Rochester history classes at the Rochester Museum & Science Center. Warren took an early retirement from his engineering career after working at General Motors for 37 years, where he was Manager of Research & Development for Advanced Fuel Systems. He has also just finished a book which is now available on early Rochester history called America's First Boomtown - Rochester NY. |
